Cirrus-Wolken werden in großer Höhe gebildet, entstehen oft im wolkenfreien Raum und bestehen vollständig aus Eiskristallen. Auch Federnwolken genannt, können sie die ersten Anzeichen für die Entwicklung von Feuchtigkeit in großen Höhen sein und den Beginn einer allgemeinen Wolkenentwicklung anzeigen.

Es geht um die Berechenbarkeit der Zukunft.
In der zweiten Hälfte des 21.Jahrhunderts werden dreimal so häufig turbulente Bedingungen in der Atmosphäre herrschen werden wie in vorindustrieller Zeit.
Die einzige Möglichkeit, Turbulenzen sicher zu vermeiden, bleibt, nicht zu fliegen.

Cirrus clouds are formed at high altitudes, often occur in cloud-free areas and consist entirely of ice crystals. Also called plume clouds, they can be the first signs of moisture developing at high altitudes and indicate the start of general cloud development.

It’s all about the predictability of the future.
In the second half of the 21st century, turbulent conditions in the atmosphere will be three times more frequent than in pre-industrial times.

Cirrocumuluswolken bestehen aus stark unterkühlten Wassertröpfchen, die kurz davor sind, zu Eiskristallen zu gefrieren. Diese seltensten und ephemersten der zehn Hauptwolkenarten gehen schnell in Cirro oder Cirrostratus über und weisen darauf hin, dass in der oberen Troposphäre starke vertikale Bewegungsvorgänge stattfinden. Daher deuten Cirrocumuli auf eine instabile Schichtung der Luft hin.

Diese Widersprüche lassen sich kaum vermeiden, da jede Prognose von ihren Annahmen abhängt.

Cirrocumulus clouds consist of highly supercooled water droplets that are about to freeze into ice crystals. These rarest and most ephemeral of the ten main cloud types quickly change into cirro or cirrostratus and indicate that strong vertical movement processes are taking place in the upper troposphere. Cirrocumuli therefore indicate an unstable stratification of the air.

These contradictions can hardly be avoided, as every forecast depends on its assumptions.
The influence of environmental pollution on clouds is still one of the biggest sources of uncertainty when it comes to how quickly the world will warm up, says the atmospheric researcher.
They came to the conclusion that clouds are cooling the climate about twice as much as previously assumed.

Man hätte von Diebstahl sprechen können, würde nicht die Aneignung kollektiver Ressourcen durch Einzelpersonen das Fundament von Privateigentum bilden.

Altostratus is a mid-level, gray, overcast cloud layer and usually forms when a large region of warmer air collides with a region of colder air. Stratocumulus, sogenannte Haufenschichtwolken, sind vielleicht die unbeliebteste aller Wolkenarten, da sie den Himmel lückenfrei, mit grauen Unterseiten und als tiefhängende Schicht bedecken, jedoch haben sie einen kühlenden Effekt auf die Erdoberfläche, bedecken 20% der Tiefsee und es geht kein oder nur leichter Regen von ihnen nieder.

Soziale Prozesse lassen sich ja äußerst schlecht prognostizieren. Vielleicht liegt unsere größte Hoffnung im Nichtwissen und der damit verbundenen Möglichkeit der Überraschung. Aber das ist natürlich eine Form des magischen Denkens, auf der man keine Politik aufbauen kann.
Eine Art Schattenkontingente aus Gegenwarten, die nicht sind, Vergangenheiten, die niemals waren, Zukünften, die niemals sein werden.

Cumuluswolken bilden sich je nach Umgebungstemperatur aus Wasserdampf, unterkühlten Wassertröpfchen oder Eiskristallen in den unteren Wolkenschichten. Sie erzeugen wenig oder gar keinen Niederschlag, sofern sie nicht größer werden.

Die Strahlungsbilanz auf der Erde schwanke über Monate und Jahre. Um mehr Gewissheit zu erlangen, brauche man Zeit, wahrscheinlich Jahre. Außerdem seien die Prozesse bei der Wolkenbildung und ihr Einfluss auf den Klimawandel noch nicht genug verstanden.
Und das politische Rätsel schlechthin, gemeinsam in einer Welt von Andersartigkeiten zu leben, findet darin andere Implikationen und andere Ressourcen.
